Don’t shrink-wrap your spirit
Yesterday, I stepped away and took a day off, for me.
No meetings. No inbox.
Instead, a day of deep visioning with my coach and a circle of brilliant, soul-led women.
I didn’t realise how much I needed it until I was in it.
A recharge. A re-ignition.
A reclamation of what is important, and what is not.
A room and space held brilliantly by a fearless leader, who helped us all re-imagine what’s next and what we are becoming, in our work and in our worlds.
This is the power of gathering with others who are aligned to a similar path and ambition.
Who are walking their own bold path.
Who are willing to challenge the identities they’ve outgrown.
This is when you know you are in the right room.
And when life gets full and busy rules, our brains default to survival.
We stop imagining what’s possible and cling to what’s probable, because we choose to just look at what’s immediately next.
Reactive, not proactive.
I’ve seen it this last week as June reaches its conclusion:
“It’s nearly July and I’ve done nothing!” “I can’t believe it’s the second half already”
Which is code for: I’m Late. Not enough. I’m somehow failing.
Sinking into whinging energy, not winning energy.
But let me tell you, you’re not late for anything.
And you’re definitely not failing.
You’re right on time. And you’re awesome.
And there is plenty of time to reclaim what the next minute, month, half, year, or whatever, looks and feels like for you.
So here are the questions I’m carrying forward from yesterday’s session. Maybe they’ll land for you too:
• Where have I been loyal to an old identity that no longer fits?
• Where have I used safety as a reason to stay small?
• What parts of my work no longer reflect the woman I’m becoming?
• What am I ready to reclaim, today?
They helped me get back from whinging to winning energy pretty quick, maybe they will for you too.
With love,
