The Courage Compass

Tiny braveries can shift everything

But we often think bravery has to be big.

Like quitting, leaving, starting or changing something big.

And sometimes it does need to be big.
But the tiny braveries matter just as much

This week, my brave thing wasn’t flashy. It was quiet.
I changed my mind.

I’d committed to something that felt right when I said yes. But as it got closer, my body said otherwise. I felt heavy. Foggy. Off-centre. Lost my direction.
Old me would’ve pushed through. Kept the commitment. Paid the energetic price.

But the now me, chose something different.

I reached out and re-negotiated. With kindness but absolute clarity.

With no apology for listening to myself. Even though my uncomfortable internal people-pleaser was screaming silently to say” sorry” or just not say it at all.

Tiny bravery.

No fireworks or drama.
Just a subtle, sacred shift in direction by listening to my internal compass.

And I felt much better as a result.

We don’t always give ourselves credit for these moments.
But they’re powerful.
Because every time we choose ourselves,
Every time we tune into our no,
Every time we speak the truth we usually swallow down.
We reclaim a little more of our energy.
Our time. Our life.

So today, I want to celebrate the tiny braveries.

The woman who deleted the email draft instead of people-pleasing.
The founder who re-wrote their offer to reflect their real voice.
The leader who finally said, “Actually, I don’t know.”
The creative who shared their work even though it scared them.
The human who asked for what they really need.

You don’t have to set fire to the system to be brave.
You just have to tune back in to your internal courage compass.

And make the next right move. For you.

With love,

Tamsyn
