Politely Screaming into the Void
I’m a bit over the white noise of the AI-generated universe right now.
Even the digital spaces I usually enjoy for work have lost their charm. What once felt alive with possibility now feels like a beige wasteland of productivity tips and polished platitudes.
So, I’ve been quietly off LinkedIn for a while, aside from the odd pre-scheduled post, partly thanks to the algorithm currently being held together by chewing gum and blind optimism.
It’s not been a dramatic exit.
But I’ve just felt overwhelmed by the noise.
Like trying to shout something heartfelt into a pub full of AI karaoke.
Same-same voices. Shiny content. Not a lot of soul.
I started to doubt what I’m even doing here. Which, if I check in properly, is this:
To speak honestly.
To show up as a human, flaws, contradictions, weird metaphors and all.
And to gently nudge others to do the same.
I’m trying not to become a self-fulfilling prophecy, drowning in the scroll, forgetting that meaningful impact isn’t born from keeping up with the noise. It’s born in the quiet moments. In the connection. In the realness.
A few timely nudges from humans I deeply admire reminded me of that. The world is still human-centric (despite the robots’ best efforts) and that staying connected to our heads, hearts, and each other matters now more than ever.
So here I am.
Grateful for this tiny corner of your inbox.
Aware that showing up in it is a privilege, not a right.
Hoping that something I say brings a flicker of light or a small spark of "oh, me too."
And if you’re one of the kind souls reading this, thank you.
For being here.
For being human.
I don’t know about you, but I’m craving more in person connection, creativity, and actual humanity in my work and world.
So maybe more of that soon.
What about you?
What are you craving in contrast to the AI hum?
Hit reply and tell me, I’d really love to hear from you.
